Alicia Maria Houtrouw is a senior project manager for Latin American initiatives at the Getty Research Institute. She received her MA in Latin American Studies from UCLA, where she researched Pre-Columbian and colonial art of Mexico and Peru. She manages three research initiatives centering on Latin America art; they range from creating digital editions of 16th-century Mexican codices, to enhancing access to Latin American archives and Pre-Columbian provenance histories. Her mission is to explore how digital media transcends physical barriers to facilitate the study of art and cultural heritage through collaboration and knowledge dissemination.
