Inventar Colombia: una mirada desde el Orinoco is an interactive digital resource about the Orinoco basin on a geological scale, in pre-Hispanic times, during the process of colonization and in the transition between colony and republic. The site proposes three readings: it is a narrative experiment that explores the geological history of the basin and the circulations and exchanges of its inhabitants; a reading aid for the book El Orinoco Ilustrado (1741) by Jesuit Father Joseph Gumilla and an essay that proposes a look at the process of territorialization of the Orinoco region during the eighteenth century and its importance during the process of invention of the Republic of Colombia.
